    Totally Tubular River Rentals ​Open Memorial Day - Labor Day OPEN 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Thursday OPEN 9 am - 5 pm Friday -Sunday Rentals are based on first-come-first-serve. Please email us at info@totallytubularsalida.com we will get back to you within 24 hours. ​Open Memorial Day-Labor Day Off-season Hours & Information: Totally Tubular River Rentals will operate out of Salida Vibes after Labor day weekend. Vibes is located directly behind the Rentals attached to the Boathouse Restaurant. Please stop in and ask the staff any rental questions after Labor Day.
  • How do I rent equipment?
    Equipment is rented on a first-come-first-serve basis. No reservations are accepted. We operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day. You must sign a liability waiver before renting equipment. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. A driver’s license or credit card will be held while our equipment is in your possession.
  • Can I make a reservation?
    Equipment is rented on a first-come-first-serve basis. No reservations are accepted. We operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day. You must sign a liability waiver before renting equipment. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. A driver’s license or credit card will be held while our equipment is in your possession. OPEN Daily 9am - 5pm *Once all rentals are returned the shop may close early. We do not have a phone please swing by or email us with any questions we are happy to help.
  • Waiver Must be filled out &  Under 18

  • What is the river like?
    The Arkansas River is a real river! It is cold, fast-moving, and can knock you out of your tube or flip your craft over. Please watch out for rocks, tree branches, and any other obstacles. Hats, glasses, shoes, etc. need to be attached to your body. Wetsuits are encouraged for protection from river obstacles and cold water! Wetsuits are available for rent at Totally Tubular.
  • What equipment is available to rent?

  • Do you offer Guide and Shuttle Services?
    Totally Tubular is a rental company only! We do not provide guides or shuttle services. We do not have lockers available to store your personal items, but we will hold your keys for you in a secure place.
  • How should I dress for the river?
    The Arkansas river is extremely cold in the spring and proper cold water river attire is strongly recommended. Totally Tubular rents wetsuits. By mid summer the water temperature has warmed into the 60's and wetsuits may not be necessary Boating attire should include quick drying clothing or wetsuit material and shoes or sandals that are secure to your feet.
  • Salida River Park Description
    The Arkansas River town run offers 4 whitewater features. The first feature is up the paved path from our rental location. The second feature is at the boat ramp. The third feature is below the bridge that you will float under. The fourth feature is directly below the bandshell stage building. Unless you have set up your own shuttle further downriver you will want to take out after the 4th whitewater feature on the right side of the river. You can walk back up the path and do it all again!

Located right here at Totally Tubular. Float down just past the bridge and walk up the path and start again! Directions to other sections of the river (AHRA State Park pass is required): Car Shuttle Required. Brown Bridge - Hwy 291 west, turn left on CR 154, right on CR 160, right on CR 166. WARNING! Hazardous dam in this section, while on the river stay river LEFT and use the boat chute to avoid the dam. Scouting is strongly recommended. Salida East - 3.5 miles - Hwy 291 east to Hwy 50. The left side of hwy. Rincon - 9.9 miles - Hwy 291 east to Hwy 50. The left side of the highway. Heckle Junction - 12 miles - Hwy 291 west to Hwy 285 north. Turn right on CR-194 (2 miles to the river). Big Bend and Independent Whitewater - 7.4 miles - Hwy 291 west, turn left on CR154, right on CR 160, right on CR 165. WARNING! Hazardous dam in this section, while on the river stay river LEFT and use the boat chute to avoid the dam. Scouting is strongly recommended.   • What happens if I lose my equipment?
    Any unreturned equipment will be charged to your credit card.
  • Can I purchase clothing and accessories?
    We are located next to the retail store- Salida Vibes which sells sunscreen, sunglasses, Croakies, sun shirts, t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, and much more!
